“Gianfranco Lotti dedicated his life and talent to handcrafting the perfect bag, spending years on refining the art of making them. The art of leather is about craftsmanship, savoir-faire, and excellence, each step being crucial for creating such a piece of art. Obtaining this degree of excellence and perfection on every piece of accessories starts with the selection of the best skins. Crafting a leather handbag is intrinsically linked with natural material. Gianfranco Lotti is extremely attentive to all environmental conditions and has the highest respect for the quality of the skins and for the farming conditions.
Gianfranco Lotti works exclusively with a carefully selected network of partners, who are as adamant as we are in respecting the international regulations under the administration of the United Nations. All exotic skins used by Gianfranco Lotti for the making of its handbags are sourced, traceable and certified through the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) whose Secretariat is administrated by the United Nations Environment Program. These farms engage themselves to respect the rules established by the CITES Convention signed 1973 in Washington. The Convention went into full effect in 1975 and is considered one of the most important international conservation instruments for the protection of specific species. More recently the Convention has outlined its new Strategic Vision to 2020 to contribute – under sustainable development goals defined by the United Nations – to the conservation of wildlife as integral part of the global ecosystem.
Gianfranco Lotti continues to uphold its policies to respect the highest international standards and to cooperate only with international reputed partners who fully support our commitment.”
